Weekly MRI Equipment Quality Control for Large ACR Phantom

Quality control (QC) of the human MRI scanners is essential to ensure optimalimage acquisition. In order to acieve this purpose, our center performs the phantom QC test weekly according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI accreditation procedure. Several important assessments of MR image quality are included as follows: geometric accuracy, high-contrast resolution, slice thickness accuracy, slice position accuracy, image intensity uniformity, percent signal ghosting, and low-contrast object detectability. In addition, signal-to-noise ratio and central frequency are monitored as well. Users are welcome/encouraged to check the QC results of the scanner before performing his/her studies.
